MANT
Exposition réalisée dans le cadre de Novembre Numérique, programme international organisé par l’Institut français
Production : Mairie d’Auckland & Ambassade de France de Wellington en Nouvelle-Zélande
Tony Regazzoni is the latest kaimahi toiā-whare (artist in residence) for Pā Rongorongo. He was invited to Auckland by the French Embassy to produce artworks for Novembre numérique, a global, cultural exchange event facilitated by the French Embassy. Tony created a body of works influenced by the digital history, mimicking digital devices and their advertising: one of Tony’s primary interests was to explore Māori culture and its relationship to modern technologies. He has expressed his interest in Whakairo, the traditional Māori technique of carving wood, stone or bone. Tony’s residency is anchored by his new project: MANT, also known as the Museum of Ancient New Technologies.
