…High-rise facades, meteorology, optical illusions, Godard, record covers, spam mail, demonic forces, balconies, darkrooms, New American Cinema, Klossowski, teleshops: With the double exhibitionDAUGHTERS OF TIME, Ursula Döbereiner and Bertrand Lamarche take a hallucinogenic trip through the legacy of modernism. Situated between physical and consciousness-expanding experiment, between vision and enlightenment, DAUGHTERS OF TIME creates room for different projections.
In her wallpapered mural works and drawings, the Berlin artist Ursula Döbereiner fades fictive and semi-abstract urban scenarios into the exhibition space in which language and architecture fuse. Seen through 3D glasses, all-overs consisting of red and blue overlain architecture modules and words are perceptible in three dimensions – as literal and structural text in which viewers can immerse themselves. Döbereiner makes use of advertising from facades, shops, and the Internet, as well as titles of albums by bands such as Cluster andWhite Noise.
